Concussion Awareness and Safety

At Rock Ridge Youth Hockey Association (RRYHA), player safety is our top priority. We are committed to promoting concussion awareness, prevention, and proper management to ensure the well-being of all players. Minnesota State Law and Minnesota Hockey regulations outline essential protocols that every coach, official, and volunteer must follow to protect young athletes from the risks of head injuries.

Key Safety Guidelines

  • Recognition & Removal: If a player exhibits signs of a concussion, they must be immediately removed from play and evaluated.
  • Evaluation & Clearance: Players suspected of having a concussion cannot return to play until cleared by a qualified healthcare professional trained in concussion management.
