At Rock Ridge Youth Hockey, we are committed to creating a safe, positive, and respectful environment for all our players. We follow SafeSport guidelines to help prevent abuse, bullying, and misconduct at every level of the game.
What is SafeSport?
SafeSport is a nationwide program created by the U.S. Center for SafeSport to protect young athletes from all forms of abuse. It provides training, policies, and reporting systems to ensure that hockey remains a safe and enjoyable sport for everyone.
How SafeSport Protects Our Players
π Preventing Misconduct & Abuse β Policies to stop bullying, harassment, hazing, and all forms of abuse (physical, emotional, or sexual).
π Required Training β Coaches, volunteers, and players (ages 17-18) complete SafeSport training to promote safety and respect.
π Locker Room & Travel Policies β Clear guidelines for supervision to keep players safe during practices, games, and team travel.
π Reporting Concerns β A confidential system for players and families to report any concerns about misconduct.
